A traffic enforcement stop Friday, Feb. 8 in Coarsegold resulted in three people being taken into custody, a stolen car recovered and nearly $1,000 of Crystal Methamphetamine seized.
The trio, arrested near Skyline Ridge Road and Skyline Ridge Court, are: Melissa Mae Johnson, 32, of Ahwahnee; Summer Marie Addington, 23, of Coarsegold; and Todd Andrew Kjeldergaard, 41, of Oakhurst.
According to reports, Deputy Richard Gonzales pulled a red, 2000 Geo Metro over around 3:24 p.m. Feb. 8.
The driver, identified as Johnson, claimed they were lost although the deputy knewe her passenger, Addington, lives in Coarsegold.
Johnson reportedly told the deputy that it was a friend's vehicle, but according to records, the vehicle had been reported stolen in Oakhurst Jan. 29.
Deputies seized two glass smoking pipes, four packages of crystal meth that weighed nearly 20 grams and were worth almost $1,000, as well as more than $400 in cash.
All three were booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.
Johnson was jailed facing felony drug charges and car theft. Her bail was set at $25,000.
Addington is being held without bail for a probation violation.
Kjeldergaard, who faces felony drug charges, posted his bail set at $10,000.
The charges are only allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
