A traffic enforcement stop Friday, Feb. 8 in Coarsegold resulted in three people being taken into custody, a stolen car recovered and nearly $1,000 of Crystal Methamphetamine seized.
The trio, arrested near Skyline Ridge Road and Skyline Ridge Court, are: Melissa Mae Johnson, 32, of Ahwahnee; Summer Marie Addington, 23, of Coarsegold; and Todd Andrew Kjeldergaard, 41, of Oakhurst.
According to reports, Deputy Richard Gonzales pulled a red, 2000 Geo Metro over around 3:24 p.m. Feb. 8. The driver, identified as Melissa Johnson, claimed they were lost. The deputy found that hard to believe since her front passenger, identified as Summer Addington (whos on probation), lives in Coarsegold.
When asked who the car belonged to, Johnson reportedly told the deputy that it was a friends vehicle. According to records, the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakhurst Jan. 29.
Deputies seized two glass smoking pipes, four packages of crystal meth that weighed nearly 20 grams and were worth almost $1000, as well as more than $400 in cash.
All three were booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.
Melissa Johnson was jailed facing felony drug charges and car theft. Her bail was set at $25,000. Summer Addington is being held without bail for a probation violation.
Todd Andrew Kjeldergaard, who faces felony drug charges, posted his bail set at $10,000.
