Obituary for 2/7/13 edition of the Sierra Star

Ronald Brian Pugh died Feb. 1, 2013, at the age of 64.

Mr. Pugh was a resident of Oakhurst, recently moving from Antelope Valley.

He was born Jan. 26, 1948 in Huntington Park.

Mr. Pugh enjoyed spending time with his family and helping them; boating on the Colorado River with family and friends; motorsports -- including dirt bike and motocross racing; restoring his street rod; attending car shows; and coffee at Raley's with friends.

He worked for So CA Gas Company for 33 years and owned R&K racing, where he raced NASCAR mini stocks with his daughter.

Mr. Pugh was a member of the Oakhurst Kiwanis club.

He was preceded in death by parents Charles and Helen Pugh; brother-in-law Donald Messerle; and grandson Donny Pugh.

Mr. Pugh is survived by wife of 43 years, Karen; daughters Brenda Pugh, and Stephanie Bricker and husband Michael; brother Dennis Pugh and wife Rilla; sister Marcia Chaney and husband Ed; grandchildren Kimmy Pugh, Sascha Bricker and Simon Bricker; and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to the Scleroderma Foundation (scleroderma.org).

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb 9 at St Pancratius Catholic Church in Lakewood, 3519 St. Pancratius Place, Lakewood. An interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Av, Culver City.
