The Yosemite Badgers soccer team lost at Kerman 2-1 Jan. 29 with Alex Mello scoring the solo goal on an assist from Victor Salazar. 'I was impressed the way we played,' said coach Rick Lemberg. 'We played our best soccer of the season against a very good Kerman team — they just played a little better.' On Jan. 31, the Badgers beat Sierra 5-1. Scoring was done by Tyler McIntrye, Christ Grant, Austin Bain and Mello with two scores. Grant's score came on an assist from Voltmer who crossed-kicked the ball about 30 yards and Grant headed it into the goal. The Badgers need two wins this week against Liberty and at Washington Union today to advance to the section playoffs.
