The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce German Fest committee gathered last week for the second food tasting in preparation for the upcoming event. German Fest will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Oakhurst Community Center, 39800 Road 425B.

The four-course menu will include German bread (Deutsches Brot), cucumber salad (Gurkensalat), barley stew (Graupeneintopf), sauerkraut, red cabbage (rotkohl), German potato casserole (kertoffel casserole), and two choices of German sausage -- Bavarian Bratwurst and Beef Knockwurst.

Apple strudel (apfestrudel) will be served for dessert.

Along with the dinner there will be a raffle, live auction and entertainment.

Tickets cost: $25 and can be purchased through the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce.
