Diane Mary Anzai died Jan. 8, 2013, at the age of 52.
Mrs. Anzai was a resident of Mariposa for 12 years.
She was born April 4, 1960 in Santa Monica to Heinz and Maria Betat.
Mrs. Anzai enjoyed family trips to the ocean, riding horses, snow skiing, road trips, spending time with friends and family, and helping others.
She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and most recently attended the Mariposa Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she volunteered and participated in many of its events.
Mrs. Anzai graduated from Pacific Union College in 1979 with a degree in registered nursing.
She served as a missionary in 1987, teaching English and the Bible at Holbrook Indian School in Arizona. In 2001, she moved to Mariposa and worked at John C. Fremont Hospital for 12 years.
Mrs. Anzai is survived by daughter Jessica Anzai; step-grandchildren Randy and Andrew Putnam; parents Heinz and Maria Betat; and brother Olaf Betat.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Oakhurst Seventh-day Adventist Church, 50690 Crane Valley Road (426), Oakhurst.
