Wayne Ashlock

Obituary for 1/17/13 edition of the Sierra Star

Wayne Ashlock died Jan. 12, 2013, at the age of 77.

Mr. Ashlock was a resident of Coarsegold for 32 years, formerly of Fresno for 40 years.

He was born Nov. 17, 1935 in Gilman, Colo.

Mr. Ashlock worked as a swimming pool builder and general contractor.

He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Raymond for more than 20 years.

Mr. Ashlock enjoyed spending time outdoors at Mammoth Pool and the high Sierra, driving his Bronco, camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends, hot rods, car shows, and helping others.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Jerrie Ashlock.

Mr. Ashlock is survived by wife Kelly Ashlock; children Lynn Shield, Jeff Ashlock and wife Laurel, Diane Altimus and husband Jeff, and Patti Jones and husband Ray; grandchildren Kalen and Shonda Cobb, Kylee Jones, Shane Wiley, Kelly Blair and husband Bill, Cameron, Dane and Seth Altimus, and Taylor and Laura Ashlock; step-grandchildren Mary Beth Gallegos and Haley McFarland; great-grandchildren William and Liberty Blair, and Elianna, Alexa and Josiah Gallegos; sister Judy Vajta and her daughters Karen and Stacy; and many extended family members.

A rosary and mass will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 36483 Knowles Road (606), Raymond, followed by a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, 39696 Highway 41, Oakhurst. A private burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22.
