Madera County Sheriff John Anderson announced that an arrest has been made in Novembers 22-Mile House scratcher heist.
Christopher Nunn, 32, of Fresno is now behind bars in Madera County.
Nunn was identified as the man seen on crutches in the video surveillance tape that captured two men cashing the stolen scratchers in Fresno Nov. 28, 2012.
The second suspect, Robert Leroy Cave, 51, also from Fresno, is still outstanding. He was the suspect seen wearing a baseball cap.
Detectives believe a third man was also involved.
The heist occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 28 when a lone thief was captured on tape bursting through the front door of the 22-Mile House, located off Highway 41 and Road 208. The thief grabbed a stack of lottery tickets and fled the store.
Just a couple of hours later, two men, later identified as Nunn and Cave, were captured on video surveillance tape cashing those stolen scratchers in Fresno.
The pair hit a Circle K on Olive, a gas station on North Blackstone, and other establishments mostly in the area of Blackstone and Shields. Those establishments included a number of mini-marts, a CVS store, and a Save Mart. Detectives say the pair pocketed more than $1,000 before the day was done.
With assistance from Fresno Police Detectives, Madera County Sheriffs Detective Adam McEwen was able to identify both Nunn and Cave.
Nunn was already jailed on an unrelated charge when Detective McEwen was able to tie him to the scratcher theft. Nunn was on probation for burglary at the time of his arrest and was apprehended last month in the city of Madera. Wanted in Fresno on a no bail warrant, Nunn is being held in Madera County without bail.
According to Fresno authorities, both Nunn and Cave belong to the Fresnick group a Fresno based white supremacy gang that reportedly has been tied to burglaries and home invasion robberies.
Anyone who may have information about this case, including Robert Caves whereabouts, and the identity of the third suspect, is urged to call the Madera County Sheriffs Office at (559) 675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 498-STOP.
