100th anniversary

Letter to the editor 1/10/13 edition

January 10, 2013

Dear Editor,

Allow me to write this open letter to the 100th Anniversary of Oakhurst committee members. I want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment to the 100th Anniversary of Oakhurst. 2012 was a busy year and I feel we accomplished our goal of providing awareness and community participation for the Oakhurst 100th Anniversary.

Along with your busy schedules you provided help with the various events along with many other community members who provided events, publications, banners, tee shirts, mugs, glasses, signs and displays all year long ending with the recent burying of the time capsule. In 100 years, what we accomplished will be reviewed again when the time capsule is opened. Wonder if they will celebrate as much as we have?

I really appreciated working with the committee, the Sierra Historic Sites Association and the community. It was a fun and rewarding experience to work with such capable people. The anniversary year was a success because of you and our wonderful community. Thank you all so much.

Sandy Brinley, 100th Anniversary of Oakhurst Committee chairperson, Oakhurst
