Community Dance and Theater performed for residents of the Oakhurst Living Center. Thirty dancers, ages 3 to 19, put on a Christmas show Dec. 15. The dancers performed to classic holiday songs such as "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer," while prancing around the stage with little reindeer antlers and danced to "O Holy Night" among other festive songs.
"We wanted to give back to the community, bringing so much joy and warmth to the those residents was truly an inspiring experience," said Jennifer Moore, a teacher and dancer at CDAT.
After the show they visited all the residents' rooms to talk and sing Christmas songs with them.
"To see the young children singing to the residents was such a heart warming experience," said Annie Williams, dance instructor. "The parents and teachers at Community Dance and Theater were so pleased that their children had this amazing experience with the residents. We plan on making many more trips to visit the residents at Oakhurst Living Center.
