January restaurant specials offered

To celebrate the State Office of Tourism's declaration of January being California's official restaurant month, many Mountain Area restaurants are offering a variety of specials through Jan. 31:

Blue Heron Restaurant and Lounge -- 30250 Yosemite Springs Parkway Coarsegold

A changing weekly special, paired with a glass of California wine, will be offered for $13.95. Some of the specials planned are: fillet of halibut with sweet and spicy pepper jam and lemon parsley sauce, tri-tip pot roast with roasted portabella mushrooms, and grilled pork loin steak with pear cranberry chutney. Noodle Bar -- Buy one wok entrée, get one half-off. Applies to wok items and dine-in only with membership coupon.

Ducey's on the Lake and Ducey's Bar & Grill -- 54432 Road 432, Bass Lake

At Ducey's on the Lake, a dinner for two, valued at $100, will be offered for $69.50. (Does not include taxes or gratuity.) First course: crab cakes, chipolte ailoi and avocado compote. Second course: house salad. Third course: two 4 oz. filet mignon, chef's daily mash, seasonal baby vegetables served with Béarnaise. Fourth course: chef's choice dessert. Wine: manager's choice of a local red or white. Blackened catfish over eggplant risotto for $22, and fried dill pickles with any entree for $3, will be offered throughout January. Different special appetizers will be held throughout the month for $10, including alligator, frog legs and crawfish tails.
