Drs. Rodney Peter, Dennis Jones, Bob Brosi, Ryan Franklin and Barbara Kelly will be offering free dental treatment 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 7. The event will take place at Peter's and Jones's new office located at 49255 Golden Oak Loop, adjacent to Crab Cakes Restaurant.

The is the 19th year the office has offered this service to the community for adults and children who don't have dental insurance and cannot afford to see a dentist. Patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis and will be seen for a one-appointment procedure such as a filling, treating a toothache or doing a simple extraction.

Cleanings will be done only on children under the age of 14. Extensive dental procedures such as crowns, bridges or third molar extractions will not be performed on this day, although the dental lab will perform minor repairs on dentures and partials.

Dr. Jones started Free Dentistry Day 19 years ago and Dr. Peter joined in this service 11 years ago.

"This year we will be able to see more patients in our new office as we have more treatment rooms available and more doctors providing care," Jones said. "All the doctors and the staff feel very fortunate to be part of the mountain community and Free Dentistry Day is an opportunity for us to thank the community for their support."
