A 26-year-old North Fork woman, Allison Nicole Demers, died in an auto accident last night at about 8:45 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Explorer driven by Codi Moore, 22, of Wishon, was southbound at about 15 m.p.h. on Douglas Ranger Station Road, just north of Trails End Road. Moore allowed her vehicle to leave the roadway and the vehicle rolled over three times as it traveled about 50 feet down an embankment. Demers was a passenger in the vehicle and not wearing a seat belt according to the CHP.
Moore, who escaped the accident without injury, has been charged with felony vehicle manslaughter with gross negligence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of more than .08%.
