Donald "Glen" Glenwood Moore died Oct. 30, 2012, at the age of 82. Mr. Moore was a resident of Oakhurst for more than 50 years.
He was born Jan. 25, 1930 in Modesto.
Mr. Moore attended La Serra College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
He was co-owner of "41 Trading Post" and "Good Ol Things" in Oakhurst. Earlier in life, he worked in road construction and development of many subdivisions in the Mountain Area, including Oakhurst and Ahwahnee.
Mr. Moore had a passion for American Indian history, music and paraphernalia, as well as history of the gold rush era. He also enjoyed buying, selling and trading antiques.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by parents Donald and Opal Moore; son David; grandson Bradley and great-grandson Marcus.
He is survived by wife Sandy; brother Ed Moore Sr. of Oakhurst; sister Marilyn Venden of Walla Walla Wash.; son Chris Moore of Oakhurst; daughters Joy Wood of Coarsegold, Marlo Jordan of Oakhurst, Jill Reich of Oakhurst, Tracy Mendoza of Long Beach; son Mark Jordan of Oakhurst; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Oakhurst Seventh-day Adventist Church, 50690 Crane Valley Road (426), Oakhurst.
