Thomas Ramsey Woodington

Thomas Ramsey Woodington died Oct. 27, 2012, at the age of 59.

Mr. Woodington was a resident of Oakhurst for nine years.

He was born July 10, 1953 to Charles and Beatrice Woodington in Huntington Park.

Mr. Woodington was an accomplished animation background artist for Disney Studios, illustrating films including "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King" and "Tarzan."

Along with painting, he enjoyed playing guitar in a bluegrass band, building life-like miniature trains, bird watching, rough housing with his dogs, and spending time with and taking care of his family.

He is survived by wife of 34 years, Lauren Woodington; daughters Melissa Woodington/Zamarano, Jessica Woodington and Samantha Woodington/Chu; brother Timothy Woodington; and mother Beatrice Woodington.

A memorial service was held Nov. 3 in Los Angeles.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Mutt Hutt Dog Grooming in Oakhurst, which he helped establish with his wife, or to the American Diabetic Association.
