Rev. Paul C. Redmond died Oct. 23, 2012, at the age of 88.
Rev. Redmond was a resident of Oakhurst for 23 years.
He was born Aug. 9, 1924 in Lillis, Kan.
Rev. Redmond was a minister for Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 53 years in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and California. In the Mountain Area, he was the minister of Oakhurst Community Church, North Fork Grace Community Church and is listed as an emeritus pastor for New Community United Methodist Church in Oakhurst.
He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps at the San Diego Naval Hospital and Pearl Harbor Naval Hospital in Hawaii during World War II.
Rev. Redmond enjoyed reading and writing.
He was preceded in death by parents James Patrick Redmond and Minnie (Scheier) Redmond; sisters Margaret Ryan and Emily Schuetz; and brother Joseph Redmond.
Rev. Redmond is survived by wife Mary Isabelle (Maiden) Redmond of Oakhurst; sons Mark Joseph Redmond and wife Lisa of Grand Canyon, Ariz., and John Paul Redmond and wife Renee of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.; brothers James and Luke of Alabama; and grandchildren Matthew Foreman and Alkhemiya and John Peter Redmond.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at New Community United Methodist Church, 49223 Crane Valley Road (426), Oakhurst.
