Dear Editor,
With high gas prices, high unemployment, air pollution and perhaps the safety of Highway 41, it seems the time to look at building a fully-equipped hospital in Oakhurst. With the three medical groups here, a timeshare kind of plan could meet the needs of mountain residents who have to go to Fresno for emergencies, X-rays, tests and surgeries. While all surgeries may not be possible, many trips to Fresno could be eliminated with the other uses. Jobs would be available for construction and eventually hospital staff. Gas monies and air pollution would be reduced and perhaps some accidents avoided. Come on medical CEOs, it's time, don't you think?
