Last month at the Madera Fair, Minarets Future Farmers of America members participated with steer, pigs, rabbits, chickens, turkeys lambs and goats. Students worked countless hours with their animals over the summer to prepare for the fair and, because of new Minarets facilities, they had more participation than ever before with 40 students participating.
Those who received awards were:
Cody McDougald: Champion Heifer, Champion Bull, Reserve Champion Heifer and 1st place in advanced showmanship.
Kinsey McDougald: 1st place beef intermediate showmanship and 1st Place Intermediate Round Robin.
Shyann Mattes-Reserve: Champion for goats, 1st place intermediate showmanship for goats and 1st place intermediate showmanship for sheep, 2nd place Intermediate Round Robin, Best in Show Rabbit, and Reserve Champion Rabbit Single Fryer.
Chloe Ferguson-Champion Sulfolk: 1st place Horse Showmanship.
Brody Daugherty- Champion Steer.
Taylor Ferguson- Reserve Best in Show Rabbit.
