After narrowly losing to Division IV Chowchilla Sept. 27, The Minarets girls volleyball team (10-4) remains ranked No. 1 by the Fresno Bee in the Central Section Division IV.
The Mustangs took Chowchilla to five close games before losing the match on the last game. Game scores were 24-26, 27-25, 27-25, 15-25, and 11-15.
Jordan Smith had 11 kills and 40 digs, Bre Cairnes had 5 aces and 5 blocks, Taylor Meyer had 28 assists and Katie Grant had 7 blocks and 8 kills on the night.
The Mustangs opened West Sequoia League league play Tuesday at Caruthers High and will play Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at home following the 4:30 p.m. JV game.
