A free workshop titled "Transforming Our Relationships: Compassionate Listening" will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6 at New Community United Methodist Church, 49223 Crane Valley Road (426).

The workshop is being led by Rev. Linda Kelly-Baker, a United Methodist pastor and retreat leader. She is founder and former director of Side-By-Side Ministries that served the homeless community for over 11 years.

Saturday's workshop will offer skills and ideas for connecting more deeply with others by listening with an ear to God. Through hands-on exercises and reflection, participants will explore how faith and natural compassion can make a difference and open hearts, helping to open the door for God to transform lives.

Those interested should register by 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 by emailing office@newcommunityumc.net or by calling (559) 683-2652.
