The Ted Lilly Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Yosemite Baseball Boosters, will be held at Sierra Meadows Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 27 to benefit youth baseball programs in the Mountain Area.
In addition to the golf tournament, dinner and live auction, the event provides baseball fans the opportunity to play a hole of golf with the former Yosemite High and Fresno City baseball standout who has enjoyed a 14-year career in Major League Baseball.
Golfers and guests will be treated to an evening of celebrity status with Lilly featuring a tri-tip barbecue awards dinner and a live auction featuring baseball memorabilia and mini vacations.
Two auctions items expected to draw a lot of interest is a signed Irving "Magic" Johnson L.A. Lakers jersey and a signed Don Mattingly Dodger jersey. Last year, the live auction raised about $35,000.
"Last year's event was outstanding," Lilly said. "The people, the weather and the support of the community made this event successful. I hope more will come out and participate in the fun this year"
Proceeds will help finance the 2013 baseball season by funding field upgrades, equipment, uniforms and seasonal operations for Yosemite High School baseball, Sierra Mountain Little League,Yosemite Little League and the Yosemite Baseball Boosters for scholarships to graduating seniors.
The scramble shot gun start will be at: 11:30 a.m. The dinner will start at 5:30 p.m.
Registration fee is $150 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch and awards banquet. Individual dinner ticket cost $25.
A number of sponsorships package are available ranging from $100 tee sponsors to a $5,000 grand slam sponsorship.
