Yosemite New Life Church will kick-off 40-days of fasting and prayer leading up to election day at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at the church, located at 40390 Junction Drive, Oakhurst (behind Sears).

People of faith across the nation are participating individually and corporately in prayer and fasting for the country and upcoming elections Nov 6.

Traditionally, fasting means going without food to 'deny oneself' for a period of time, usually for the purpose of drawing near to God and for guidance, intercession and prayer. Fasting may mean just giving up one meal a day or sweets or coffee or TV.
