OES Spirit Night to be held Oct. 5

Fun, food and games for all ages

Oakhurst Elementary School's Parent/Teacher Club is once again hosting their annual "Patriotic Spirit Night" from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at the school and everyone is invited to attend.

There will be food, games, entertainment and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. Items will be available for bid from 5-7 p.m. in Room 203. Items include a Disneyland Family Pack (8 tickets), Lego Land tickets, Kindle Reader, restaurant gift certificates, and family memberships to Sierra Ambulance.

Several service clubs will volunteer their time and talents for the evening. Members from Cal Fire will be in attendance along with Smokey Bear and Sierra Ambulance. The Yosemite High School Marching Band will kick-off the festivities performing patriotic music. Members of the Oakhurst Sierra Kiwanis Club will grill up hotdogs and hamburgers. Oak Creek Intermediate sixth graders will sell slices of Round Table Pizza and OCI eighth graders will offer nachos. There will also be soda, water, cotton candy, snow cones, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, a baked potato bar, and coffee.

Entertainment includes DJ Eric Hagen, contests, tennis demonstrations by the YHS tennis team, and gymnasts from Gymnastics by Diane.

Children of all ages can participate in a variety of games and activities including bean bag toss, colored hair spraying, grab bag games, squirt boat races, baseball pitching, sand art, face painting, and gold fish ping pong. There will also be bounce houses and a climbing wall.

Lifetouch Photography will take family pictures at no charge.

Tickets cost $.50 or a wristband for $15 that is all inclusive.

All proceeds benefit the OES instructional program and various student activities.
