The Yosemite High School boys varsity water polo team (1-5, 0-1)) were defeated by Kingsburg 17-13 Sept. 11. The team's lone victory on the season was against Sierra at the first tournament of the year.
"Although we have a good number of returning starters from last year, we don't have a lot of depth,' said head coach Brandon Brokaw.
The girls varsity team, that has dominated th North Sequoia League over th past few years, is 3-8 on the season and 0-1 in league. The team's Sept. 11 XX-5 loss to Kingsburg was the first league loss in three years.
"We missed 21 shots in the game," Brokaw said.
"We play three rounds of league games so we still have a chance to be at the top of the league standings at the end of the year," Brokaw said. "We must play harder and be more focused to achieve our goal. I am still looking for someone on both teams to step up and lead us in the pool."
