After a big comback, the Yosemite Badger Juniors lost a tough game last Saturday to the Dos Palos Bobcats, 38-20.
The Yosemite offense struggled in the first half, giving up numerous sacks, and unable to get into the endzone.
Dos Palos scored early and lead 8-0 with a minute to go in the first half. After a turn over on downs by the Badgers, the Bobcats scored with 14 seconds to go in the half. Cannon Eames blocked the PAT and the Badgers entered halftime down 14-0.
In the second half, the Badgers came out with the intention of moving the pocket to avoid the rush. Eames gained 47 yards on the first drive on four carries and scored on a two-yard run making the score 22-8.
After a long drive and TD by the Bobcats, the score increased to 30-8.
On the next Badger drive, Eames hit Austen Burgeno on a 31-yard completion to the two-yard line. Eames scored on the next play closing the scoring gap to 28-14.
After a unsuccessful Badger on-side kick, the Bobcats scored again stretching the score to 38-14.
After a nice kick-off return by Shawn Glick, the Badgers went 54 yards in five plays with Eames again scoring from two yards out making the score 38-20. The
Badgers tried another on-side kick, this time recovering the the ball. Moving down the field in five plays, quarterback Ty Peterson hit Michael Stiler with a 30-yard pass, but the Badgers turned the ball over on downs and the Bobcats ran out the cloc to preserve their 38-20 win.
The Badgers are at home Saturday against the Memorial Panthers with game times at noon 12 (Midgets), 2 p.m. (Pee Wees), 4 p.m. (Juniors) and 6 p.m. (Seniors).
