Obituary for September 6, 2012 edition

Larry Curtiss died Aug. 24, 2012, at the age of 82.

Mr. Curtiss was a North Fork native and life-long resident.

He was born Sept. 28 1929 in North Fork.

Mr. Curtiss served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years during WWII and the Korean and Vietnam wars, including as chief of a nuclear submarine, and later worked as manager of the Bonnie Bee Ranch in North Fork.

He was preceded in death by son Michael, daughter Michelle and great-grandsons Ryder, Seth and Carson.

Mr. Curtiss is survived by wife of 63 years, Peggy Curtiss, sister June Burns, nephews Curtiss and Kelly, in-laws Betty and Ed Lyons; children Kip Curtiss and wife Lori, Mark Curtiss and wife Janet; grandsons Chris Curtiss, Gage Landers and Tylar Waters; granddaughters Miriah, Windi, Micah, Riley, Jessica, Alexandra and Sara; and great-grandchildren Noah, Keven, Taylor, Ean, Connor, Mateah, Joshua, Daley, Luke, Jaxon, Drake, Ernesto and Faith.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Bonnie Bee Ranch in North Fork.
