Ellen Ann Johnson died recently in Oakhurst at the age of 90.
Mrs. Johnson was a resident of Oakhurst for the past four years and had lived in Southern California since 1945.
She was born in Ogden, Utah, to Dr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Ward.
Mrs. Johnson graduated from the University of Utah.
She enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, rock hounding, trailer camping, traveling, and spending time with family.
Mrs. Johnson was involved in a crafts club, gem and mineral club, women's club, seniors' club, and served as a Welcome Wagon volunteer.
She taught in a preschool and taught elementary students in Palos Verdes de Montessori school in Palos Verdes. She was a private reading tutor for many years.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Don Johnson, and brother, Vernon Ward.
She is survived by a sister Irma Ward of Ogden, Utah; sons Don Johnson of Huntington Beach, Vernon Johnson of Oakhurst, and Joel Johnson of Sonora; grandchildren Glenn Johnson of Atascadero, LeAnne Johnson of Huntington Beach, Melanie Johnson of Santa Barbara, Brett Johnson of Costa Mesa, Bethany and Lisa Johnson of Sonora; and great-grandchild Max Johnson of Atascadero.
A private internment was held in June in Willard, Utah.
