Annual Bass Lake Home Tour will be held Sept. 8

The 7th Annual Bass Lake Home Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Sept. 8, . The event is sponsored by the Bass Lake Lions Club in conjunction with Bass Lake Realty and proceeds will benefit the Madera County Sheriff's Office "Operation Lost & Found."

Several custom homes will be offered for touring by their owners. Self-guided tours will begin in The Pines Village at Bass Lake beside the Bass Lake Realty office. The Lions Club will prepare and serve lunch, included in the price, for tour participants from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

A "must see" house on this year's tour is a newly constructed home near Bass Lake Heights.

"There is nothing else like it anywhere in the mountains," said its architect, Michael Karby. "The three-story, 6,200 square foot, cubist modernist residence is all white stucco, steel and glass and is completely solar powered."

The home's state of the art electronic lighting, data, sound, video and camera system may all be controlled from an iPad or a smart phone. The home contains a three tier home theatre with JBL audio system, a disco, a recording studio, a kitchen with all custom Italian imported appliances, a library, a full gymnasium with indoor lap pool, and an 8x16 foot glass floor in the master bedroom directly above the lap pool.

General contractor for the home was Del Alsup, owner of Apex Construction. Construction of the home started in April 2010 and was completed in July of 2011.

Situated on 13 acres of stunning views, owners Mark Jarvis and Melissa Saunders added a tennis court, putting green, adult pool and children's water park for year-round recreation and fun.

Karby will be at the house during the tour to answer question.

Operation Lost & Found uses state of the art technology to track senior citizens with memory loss who are in danger of wandering off and getting lost. The program is 100% volunteer staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Advance home tour tickets cost of $20 per person (adults only) and are available from any Bass Lake Lions Club member or the Bass Lake Realty office in The Pines Village, or by visiting BassLakeHomeTour.com. Tickets cost $25 per person on the day of the event.
