Richard Frederick Brown
Richard Frederick Brown died June 1, 2012, at the age of 71.
Mr. Brown was a resident of North Fork for four years.
He was born Aug. 14, 1940 in East St. Louis, Ill.
Mr. Brown worked as a millwright; traveled around the country as a truck driver; and worked in Kenai, Alaska as a commercial fisherman in the Bering Sea.
He was preceded in death by father George, mother Erybl, sister Lorraine and brother Curtis.
Mr. Brown is survived by wife Judi of North Fork; son William Brown and wife Cynthia of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; granddaughter Aris and husband George Schwab of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; great-grandchildren Joseph and Kinsley Schwab; sisters Gail ad husband Dennis Loucks of DuQuoin, Ill., Myrtle and husband Jerry Wren of Dennison, Texas, and Kathy Sund of Hesperia; step-father Cleon Wilson of New Athens, Ill.; stepchildren Pamela Duckett and husband Michael of North Fork, Angela Sampson and husband Chet of Fairfield, Thomas Cheesman of Oakhurst, Craig Cheesman of Sumner, Wash.; 11 step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No memorial service will be held.
Matthew "Steve" Stephen Luce
Matthew "Steve" Stephen Luce died May 13, 2012, at the age of 45.
Mr. Luce was a resident of Bass Lake for 13 years.
He was born April 13, 1967 in Texas.
Mr. Luce worked as a New Horizon Insurance owner.
He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He enjoyed cooking, wood cutting, hunting, fishing, snow and water skiing, and paintball.
Mr. Luce is survived by wife Christina Luce of Bass Lake; children Matthew and Jessica Luce; parents Will and Diane Luce of Walnut Creek; grandmother Topy Saxton of Walnut Creek; and brothers Mark, Mike and Jason Luce.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Sierra Pines Church in Oakhurst.
