The past few weeks haven't gone too well for our president. The unemployment numbers are increasing and have remained above the 8% level. There are still one million fewer folks with jobs in this country than when he got the job in January of 2009. He just told us that the private sector is "doing fine" while the public sector is hurting.
His signature legislation, "The Affordable Healthcare Act," also known as Obama Care, is neither affordable nor popular with most Americans. It is facing a negative ruling from the Supreme Court that may push back the "Whiner in Chief" into learning that the Constitution protects us from being forced by our government to buy a product. The Roman Catholic Church is taking the issue to court to protect their religious tenets from governmental intrusion. After all, the concept of "separation of Church and State" is a protection from the government intruding into the affairs of the church and not the process to keep the church out of politics or government.
The White House is now denying that anyone in the current administration leaked sensitive intelligence information to the press. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the vast majority of the current leaks paint the president in a good light and there were only two parties privy to that information -- the intelligence gathering group and the White House. Those who gather the information are good at keeping secrets as they know people can be killed or jailed for helping the U.S. gather that knowledge.
Those in the White House play by the Chicago rules of anything goes. People have been killed since those leaks and the Pakistani doctor who helped us get Bin Laden has been sentenced to years in prison. Under this president I would guess few will help the CIA very much.
The attorney general continues to show that being married to the best friend of Michelle Obama allows you to be inept or a liar and remain as the attorney general. He still can't seem to figure out who authorized the Fast and Furious program. Hundreds of thousands of documents at his disposal with some of the finest investigators in the nation working for him and Holder can't figure it out. The president should fire him but that would upset Michelle so it won't happen.
We have learned about the "Killing Lists." While I really won't miss any of the terrorists who have been killed by these drone attacks, I find it interesting that the man who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize days after becoming the president earned the award for what the folks in Oslo said was his desire and hope for bringing peace to the world. The Democrats complained that Nixon had an enemies list (that was wrong as well) but they don't seem to care that Obama meets weekly to decide whom to "rub out this week." Sounds like Chicago of the past.
Speaking of enemies lists, I find it appalling that we have learned donors to the Romney campaign are being targeted by the Obama campaign to the detriment of those donors businesses.
The president's party had full control of the Senate and the House for his first two years and yet he still blames George Bush for everything bad in the country. Frankly, if you had hired an executive to run your corporation and after three years things were still going south and that executive was still whining about the mess that was there when he arrived and still blaming his predecessor, you would fire him in a heartbeat.
We are facing a financial meltdown, the debt has increased by almost 50% above what was there the day the president took the oath and the world sees that being a community organizer just simply doesn't prepare you for being POTUS.
Now he wants to borrow more to fund more "shovel-ready jobs." Oops, that was the last package deal. Now he wants to borrow more to fund anything to buy enough votes to save his job. He is too expensive. It seems it would be cost-effective to simply give him the lifetime pension and perks and ship him back to Chicago or Hawaii.
Even Bill Clinton called him an amateur. It is a sad day when I find myself in agreement with the impeached former president.
I sure hope for a change.
