To help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Oakhurst, the 12th Annual Fresno Flats Ragtime and Vintage Music Festival will be held Feb. 10-12, featuring a number of performers.
With two pianos housed in the school house at Fresno Flats, there will be twice the fun. This year's lineup of feature pianists will include: the fiery Tom Brier playing everything from the gems of the past to his own sensational compositions; duo performers Chris and Jack Bradshaw, known for their four-hand artistry, and Jack's solo performances; Larisa Migachyov, who will add grace and elegance to the mayhem provided by the others; and an award winning youth performer, Will Perkins, whose artful renditions of stride and ragtime numbers have earned him a trip to perform in Hungary this coming March. All of this with Steve and Robyn Drivons adding tuba, vocals and percussion to the mix.
The Friday and Saturday events will be held at the Old School House at Fresno Flats Historical Park, 49777 School Road (427). Sunday's finale concert will be held at Oakhurst Lutheran Church.
The festival will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 with a dinner followed by the Ragtime concert. Tickets cost $10 and include dinner and the concert.
On Saturday there will be a concert from 2 to 4:30 p.m., again featuring festival performers. A few of the young piano students from the area will close out the afternoon. Tickets cost $5.
On Saturday night, there will be a Spaghetti Dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by an open piano session for the festival performers and anyone else who would like to play. All are welcome. Tickets cost $5 for the dinner and the afterglow.
The weekend's finale concert will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Oakhurst Lutheran Church, 39255 Black Road off Crane Valley Road.(426). Donations will be accepted for Fresno Flats and the musicians.
