Victory by default

A Senior View

I've been away for a while ... gone from the mountains ... seen some new scenes ... met some new folks ... and, from what I've seen and what I've heard, our country is goin' down the "Road to Perdition."

Now, about our country, let's start at the top with the "prez."

I like him. I think he's doing a good job, considering the mess he inherited.

President Obama and his beautiful family fill the White House with the kind of people that Americans can take pride in and make us look good to the rest of the world.

I'll vote for him again. That should be easy considering those who are lining up to run against him. Looks like a victory by default.

As for the rest of the political scene, and all those clowns in the Washington Circus, I consider their incumbency alone to be a disqualifier.

Let's quit blaming the boss and put our vote where our mouth is. Let's remember who it was that made the mess we're in. Let's use the power of our vote to give the man a crew he can work with.

They can start out by bringing all our children home from overseas to take care of our own house. Let's recognize the flat tax to be the only fair and logical way to make our tax system equitable. Charge everyone 50 cents to mail a letter, including junk mail.

Grandpa sez': "Go ahead, ask me. Who is it that knows how it was in the old days?"
