The 230 seniors at Yosemite High School were treated to a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, juice and coffee Friday cooked by school administrators and teachers.
"This was really nice of them to do this for us," said Natale Nicolulis. "It made all the seniors feel special and it was nice getting together with all our friends for breakfast before school."
Assisting with the breakfast was Dena Boortz, school food service director, Principal Ed VanHoose, Assistant Principal Diane Adney, school counselors Stephanie Samuels and Greg Hill, Activities Director Tammy Thacker and teachers Dave Doorman and Bob Collins.
Teachers attending the event included Bob Kernaghan, Stan Lawrence, Jeff Kirby, Michelle Wise, Ellen Peterson, Steve Browning, Aaron Eames, Earlene Ward, Kent Lincoln, Lars Thorson and Randy Hyatt.
The Senior Breakfast is a tradition at Yosemite High. "It's a great way to start out the year and we want our seniors to know they are special at our school," said Principal VanHoose.
"The Senior Breakfast is a fun event and the seniors seem to really enjoy it," Thacker said. "It's an opportunity for seniors to socialize with teachers and administrators outside the classroom."
In addition to the breakfast, a prize drawing was held. The winners were: Kyle Lincoln, ticket to Disneyland grad night; Moira Chase, junior-senior prom tickets; Kainani Taylor, winter formal tickets; Colleen Warmerdam, Associated Student Body card; Jonathon Scholl, school yearbook; Harley Glines, Badger sweatshirt; and Johnny Dew, Badger T-shirt.
