United States Air force Band to hold Free Community Concert

Oakhurst, CA – A free community concert by the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West Concert Band is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m., Aug. 20 at the Oakhurst Community Park, August 20th.

The Band of the Golden West concert band has performed at gubernatorial inaugurations and presidential visits, and band members have worked with renowned artists such as Toni Tennille, Marvin Stamm, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Billy Dee Williams, Rich Little, Joan Rivers, Rosemary Clooney, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Vince Gill and the Boston Brass.

The group performs more than 500 shows annually for roughly 1.5 million listeners. They play in civilian communities throughout California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada, and also support events at 10 Air Force Bases, 5 Air Force Reserve Wings and 5 recruiting squadrons.

The Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California, is the only remaining active duty Air Force Band west of the Rockies.
