Gail Louise Gallagher
Gail Louise Gallagher died Jan. 12, 2011, at the age of 64.
She was born July 18, 1946, in Burbank.
Mrs. Gallagher grew up in the San Fernando Valley and moved to Oakhurst 20 years ago.
She enjoyed crocheting, cats and visiting Yosemite National Park.
Mrs. Gallagher volunteered on the Site Improvement Program though the local school district. She always volunteered with a big smile for the many Rotary programs with her husband, especially the Cajun Feed and Rotary Car Show.
She was insurance claims vice president for 26 years at the Penn Corp Financial in Santa Monica prior to retiring.
Mrs. Gallagher is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mike; son Mick of Oakhurst; brother Richard Thomas of Arizona; bother-in- law Joe Gallagher and wife Marge of Oakhurst; and her almost-adopted son Jeremy Avery and wife Victoria and their son Connor of Fresno; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Wayne E. Gunnels Wayne E. Gunnels died Jan. 11, 2011, at the age of 78.
He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Huntington Park.
Mr. Gunnels moved to Raymond as a teen and graduated from Madera High School.
He spent four years in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War before moving to Fresno.
In 1959 he began a lifelong career in the apparel industry, and he and his wife Beverly moved to Temple City in 1960.
Mr. Gunnels enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing with friends and good food.
He is survived by his wife Beverley; son Roger and wife Ninette and son Eric and wife Victoria; daughter Patricia and husband Bill; grandchildren Joshua, Jessica and Jeshua. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Temple City.
Gerrit Henry Stukkie
Gerrit Henry Stukkie died Jan. 13, 2011, at the age of 92.
He was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Mr. Stukkie was a 10-year resident of Coarsegold.
He was a retired United States Air Force Colonel.
Mr. Stukkie was a member of the Yosemite Lakes Community Church.
He is survived by his wife Beth; sons Gerry and Kevin; daughters Paula, Lindey and Joan; sister Ruth; brother Herm; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Yosemite Lakes Community Church, 43840 Patrick Ave, Coarsegold.
Remembrances can be made to the Yosemite Lakes Community Church Care Fund or St. Agnes Hospice, 1111 E. Spruce Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
Michelle Marie Curtiss Tingley
Michelle Marie Curtiss Tingley died Jan. 2, 2011, at the age of 47.
She was born April 15, 1963, in Vallejo.
She was a lifelong resident of North Fork.
She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Curtiss and grandson Ryder Brown.
Ms. Tingley is survived by her parents Laurence and Margaret Curtiss of North Fork; children Sara Margaret Tingley of Bakersfield, Michael Gage Curtiss-Landers of North Fork, and Tylar Joseph Waters of Missouri; grandson Drake Brown of Bakersfield; sister Susan Curtiss of Prather; brothers Kevin "Kip" Curtiss and wife Lori of Fresno and Mark Curtiss and wife Janet of North Fork.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at Grace Community Church, 56442 Road 200, North Fork.
