Michael John Collins died Aug. 2, 2010 at the age of 71.

He was born Aug. 28, 1938 in Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Collins was a North Fork resident for 23 years.

He was a United States Navy veteran.

Trains were his hobby.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife Mary of North Fork; five sons in Texas; four step-children of California and Hawaii; and 21 grandchildren.

Remembrances can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
