Letter to the Editor for September 2, 2010 edition

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in support of Alan Cheah's political opinion pieces in the Sierra Star. I believe his articles have contained fair, credible and useful views about important issues. They appear to be well-researched and are presented in a civil, understandable format.

By carrying Alan Cheah's column, the Sierra Star is representing the variety of viewpoints that exist in the Oakhurst and surrounding community. As a resident of the Oakhurst/Mariposa area for 20 years, my experience has shown me that most mountain people value truth and fairness.

Alan Cheah's columns are presented in a measured, non-hysterical, sensible tone that is a welcome addition to the political dialogue of what is true and fair. I will be looking forward to Alan's future articles.
