Dear Editor,
In reference to Lynda Daley's letter, "Why not thank someone today?" in the Aug. 19 issue of the Sierra Star, I would like to do just that.
On Aug. 17, while driving south on Hwy. 41 just south of Hwy 49, I was broadsided by a vehicle coming out of the Von's shopping center. My vehicle rolled and landed on its wheels. I had a severe pain on my head where my head hit the window hard. A man was one of the first people at the scene and he leaned in through the broken passenger side window and asked me how I was doing.
He then went back to his car and retrieved an ice pack from his lunch box and gave it to me to put on my head, which immediately relieved the swelling and cut down on the pain. I would like to thank him so much for his kindness.
I don't know who he was, but if he reads this he will know -- he was wearing a yellow/gold shirt. I would also like to thank Marie, from the salon at the scene, who was also very kind and helpful to me.
We do live in a great community with wonderful, caring citizens.
