Two men and a 17-year-old touring Bass Lake took a detour to the Madera County Department of Corrections jail July 16.
The Bakersfield trio -- 23-year-old Jeremiah Raymond Walker, and his two companions, 20-year-old Thomas Loren Grealish-Burgess and a 17-year-old female, are all facing felony charges.
The trio was apprehended late last Friday following a rash of break-ins into cars and cabins along Willow Cove on Bass Lake.
The first call for assistance came from a woman whose car had been broken into, followed by additional calls for service. Deputies counted five victims.
Shortly before 1 p.m., a witness reported seeing the suspects fleeing near Road 274 in a silver colored Chevy pickup. The trio made it out of the Mountain Area until it was spotted by Deputy Paul Chetwood in Madera. When Chetwood tried to pull the vehicle over near Rotary Park located on Gateway near Cleveland Avenue, the driver sped off.
The pursuit continued on to Central Avenue toward H Street, when the driver, later identified as Grealish Burgess, drove through a stop sign, then made a sudden illegal U-turn to access north bound Highway 99. He led Deputies Valerie Breedlove, Matt Brown and Sergeant Mark Stritzel on a pursuit that ended near the Avenue 16 exit.
All three suspects were taken into custody without further incident. And Deputies successfully recovered almost $2,000 worth of stolen property -- some of which included four MP3 players, three cell phones, one GPS, a purse and mail.
Jeremiah Raymond Walker, who is wanted in Bakersfield, remains behind bars on a no bail hold. He's facing the following charges: receiving stolen property, residential burglary and conspiracy.
Grealish-Burgess, who remains behind bars with bail set at $30,000, was booked on suspicion of recklessly evading police, residential burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
The 17-year old female, transported to Madera County Juvenile Hall, is facing auto burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy charges.
