The President's poll numbers are falling at an alarming rate and he has only himself to blame. While he was a community organizer he could wander about telling folks how the job should be done. When somebody with a great deal of cash and many connections tied up with young Obama he was on his way.
He got in with Chicago's Daley machine, that bastion of honesty and integrity for government, and without much experience found himself running for the United States Senate. With Daley's organization along with George Soros' money Obama was sure to win.
After winning the Senate seat and serving all of 18 months he decided to run for President of the United States. He has written not one but two memoirs prior to his election, voted present many times to avoid casting a controversial vote, somehow was asked to be the keynote speaker at the previous Democratic Party Convention, and poof, he is the media's darling.
Give him the credit for bumping off the Clinton machine. But as great a candidate as he was, actually being a leader is much tougher.
He has been in office for almost a year and a half and still blames George W. Bush for all the ills of this country. Sorry Mr. President; it's your watch. The main stream media along with the Obama election team screamed about the disaster of the Bush administration's handling after Katrina.
The President's folks keep repeating the line that they were in charge, "From day one." They blame Bush policies and BP's inaction for the spill.
I want to know about the President's administration's response to the oil that is fouling the Gulf.
Committee hearings should be done after assembling the teams and equipment to plug the leak. A president who is a leader should have told Gov. Jindal to build whatever earthen dams he needed to protect his shoreline. Sorry Mr. President, it happened on your watch. You were there from day one -- remember. You take the heat for this.
The Administration wants to control the salt in your diet and regulate your child's Body Mass Index. If the kid is too fat you will be taken to task. The surest way for the government to handle both of these issues will be with a tax.
A $5 per pound tax on salt will surely slow the salt intake for many. A $50 per year tax for every pound over the government approved weight will force many to diet. While some would applaud that healthy lifestyle, I counter that we will have lost some freedom.
Now we are hearing that we shouldn't call our terrorist enemies terrorists or jihadists because it might offend them, but they are terrorists and they should be labeled as such, sought out and killed. Reagan was right -- you can't negotiate with them.
The President won't have his administration enforce the immigration laws to protect our borders and Arizona decided to enforce those laws.
Unlike Eric Holder I have read the Arizona Law and don't find anything too objectionable.
So the community organizer wants to welcome trespassers into this great land and provide them with many goodies. Gee, when a couple trespassed into a White House gala a few months ago the administration made sure those two were caught, tried and punished. Maybe they should have received lifetime health care, free housing, welfare/food stamps and not civil penalties.
I am still waiting for the promised open and transparent administration. I wonder what the job was that was offered to a candidate to drop out of the election which would have saved Arlen's seat.
Had enough change? Terrorists have tried to blow up a van in NYC, down a jet during Christmas, and we were not to rush to judgment.
A cop questions an uncooperative professor friend of Barry's and we have a summit meeting. A man claiming ties to Islam kills soldiers at Fort Hood and Obama says to wait to judge.
I don't like the change. I liked it better when the bad guys feared us and the government wasn't controlling the banks, auto and health care industries.
Tea anyone?
