Election 2010 - Dr. Cecilia Massetti

Published: May 13, 2010

Having devoted my entire career to education, I care about the children in our schools. I am passionate about preparing them for their future and the workplace of the 21st Century.

As a second generation Madera County resident I am committed to the success of our public education system. I have earned a doctorate and two masters degrees. I am currently serving as your associate superintendent of schools. My different experiences in education have prepared me well for the position of the superintendent of schools, particularly my 24 years working with our current Madera County Superintendent, Dr. Sally Frazier.

I bring experience dealing with complex multimillion dollar budgets, experience developing and managing direct services to students, experience supervising and evaluating teachers, administrators and support staff, experience implementing complicated legislative mandates and experience supporting teaching and learning through programs for schools, teachers and school leaders.

In this economic storm we need to have hope and understand that we can work together to create opportunities for children.

As your superintendent, I will provide support to school districts and continue to ensure quality educational programs for our children and families by developing programs to meet student needs, by seeking needed resources through partnerships, by promoting accountability in public education, by enforcing legislative mandates and by overseeing and monitoring districts in fiscal matters.

I am the only candidate with experience and proven effective leadership in the County Office of Education who is prepared and ready to lead.
