Minarets blood drive
Minarets High School hosted its first blood drive recently. There were 87 registered donors and 75 units of blood were collected. The blood drive was hosted with a free barbecue, free blood center T-shirts and raffle prizes.
Due to the age minimum, only a handful of students were eligible to donate. Instead Minarets students competed to see who could recruit the most donors. Freshman Carli Domler recruited the most, 13 donors, and won a new iPod Touch. Freshmen Nic Tapia won second place and won the Flip HD Video Camera. Sophomore Ezra Carr won third place and won a $50 Amazon gift card.
Oakhurst vet helps SPCA
Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital will be holding a promotion to help the Eastern Madera County SPCA build its planned shelter. During March and April, Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital clients who bring a check made out to the Eastern Madera County SPCA for $10, will receive $20 off their pet's examination or spay/neuter surgery. Pizza Factory donates to YHS
For the next three Tuesdays -- from 4 p.m. to close -- the Oakhurst Pizza Factory is donating 15% of its proceeds to the Yosemite High School Music Department.
Healing Oils of the Bible
Healing Oils of the Bible is a free class that will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 28 at the Yosemite Bank Conference Room, 40061 Highway 49, Oakhurst. The class will teach why 12 essential oils that were used in ancient times are still improving people's health today including immune function, clarity and memory and oxygen inside cells.

Book signing at King Vintage Museum
Antique and vintage dealer Shelley Antilla, author of "Photographers' Vintage Treasures and the People Who Wore Them," will be available to sign books from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 20 and from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 21 at the Wild Wonderful King Vintage Museum. Antilla will sign purchased books and share her stories. The books helps readers deal with the answers of what to do with family keepsakes at a time of loss.

Erna's hosts fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club
Erna's Elderberry House will host the fourth annual Evening at Erna's a fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club of Oakhurst on Sunday, March 28.
Rotary Club members, under the direction of Chef Karsten Hart, will prepare a four course meal with three wine parings. Members will also dress the part as they serve dinner in Erna's fine tradition.
The restaurant provides a European country-estate atmosphere adorned with antique French provincial furnishings, tapestries and original oil paintings.
