The Fresno Flats Ragtime and Vintage Music Festival returns to Oakhurst to celebrate its 10th anniversary March 12, 13 and 14 with four distinct venues.
The festivities begin at 2 p.m. on March 12 at Fresno Flats Historic Village and Park on School Road (427) with an afternoon of lively ragtime music. Light refreshments will be available. A $5 donation is suggested.
Music will continue at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 at the Golden Chain Theater. Admission is $7.50. The sharing of the Theater this day with the Abraham Lincoln celebration is appropriate, as many of the early ragtime composers and performers were born of former slaves.
The music will continue at 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday at The Grind, formerly Yosemite Coffee and Roasting Company, on Highway 41.
The festival concludes with a 2 p.m. performance at the Oakhurst Lutheran Church. Together the artists will present a ragtime concert with two, four and six hands on two pianos.
Details: Bea Walden, (559) 642-2272.
