Kenneth R. Kiehlmeier of Bass Lake passed away surrounded by his family at home on January 13, 2010 at the age of 67. Ken was born January 14, 1942 in Erie, Pennsylvania and a resident of Bass Lake for 31 years. Ken worked as a Real Estate Broker for many years. Ken was an active member of his community, serving on the Yosemite High School Trustee Board and also served as Board President for a period of time. Ken also volunteered with the Madera County Sheriff’s Department as a Reserve Officer for over 15 years and was promoted to the rank of Captain during his service. Ken was an avid boater, enjoyed classic cars, and listening to rock and roll especially Elvis Presley. Ken is survived by his wife Nita of 47 years, his two sons Robert and James, two daughter-in-laws Diana and Terri, grandchildren Paul, Courtney, Amanda and Dalton. Ken is also survived by his mother Dorothy Slinkard of Fresno, his sisters Betty Deroo of Clovis and Patti Bettencourt of Fresno. Ken leaves behind many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial will be held on January 18, 2010 at the Pines Resort at 10:00 AM in the Lakeview room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Nancy Hinds Hospice of Fresno.
