Bass Lake received 8.5 inches of rain and the Oakhurst / North Fork area received 4.3 inches last weekend according to Philip Messerschmitt, information specialist for the North Fork office of the U.S. Forest Service.
The seasonal total for Oakhurst, which runs from July 1, is above normal at 13.74 inches. The yearly average rainfall for Oakhurst is about 30 inches, which has not been met the past two years.
Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area, which opens tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., has received three feet of snow as of Tuesday morning. A new shuttle service from Oakhurst to Badger Pass begins Saturday. See Badger Pass story on page B1.
