Dr. Bill Atwood, above, acts as Uncle Sam at Patriot Day festivities at Sierra Telephone, designed to recognize and honored those who gave gave their lives on 9-11, as well as those who fight every day to protect the liberties of all Americans. The event included a flag raising, singing of the National Anthem, presentation of colors by the Yosemite High School Cadet Corps, among other things. Dr. Angelo Pizelo, a local Marine Corps veteran, gave the keynote address. ‘We must never forget Sept. 11, 2001,’ Pizelo said. ‘Out of that darkness came a vitality. We treasure our country and we’re proud to be American.’
