Dear Editor,
Just recently I became aware of an increasingly dangerous situation. The back of Raley's store is being used as a gathering place for local skateboarders. They skate in the back of the store as well as using the store's parking area across from the Golden One Credit Union.
While most are very good, they are also very fast. They zoom off the sidewalk into the parking lot.
While locals may be aware of them, visitors and tourists may not. In an encounter with a vehicle, the skateboarder is not going to do well. I don't know who is responsible or what the liability is on private property.
I am concerned that there will be an injury before too long and most certainly a lawsuit. I am sure Raley's is aware of this situation as the Raley's employees take their breaks in this area as well.
