Jennie McClellan of Ahwahnee, Savana Besselievre of Yosemite Lakes Park and Jessee Brownell of Mariposa will dance in two Fresno competitions this season. The first was last month at the Kids Artistic Revue (KAR), which was held at the Saroyan Theatre.

The second will be later this month at a competition called Thunderstruck. Jennie is a 25-year-old woman with Down Syndrome who has been seriously dancing for the past five years. Savana is 12 years old and has been dancing for eight years. Jessee is 13 years old and has been dancing for 10 years. The trio’s choreographer is Stephanie Chappel who also is an English/Cheer teacher at Mariposa County High School. They dance to the song ‘Day Break,’ which is a jazz number. They earned a first-place award for their performance at KAR. The three judges at this competition had nothing but praise for Jennie’s dancing ability and smile throughout the number.
