The Yosemite Lady Badgers basketball team ran into the temporary nevers. You know, they never were in the game, they never found an answer for the big Lady Eagles center, they never...get the idea?

In a game that they probably should have won handily, the Lady Badgers started slow and trailed by 10 at the half in last Thursday's 69-61 loss to Fresno Christian in the Harry Baker gym.

Yosemite has had trouble in the middle when the opposition has had a tall physical center and last week was no exception. Paige Armstrong-maltos, a 6-feet-4-inch junior, controlled the boards on both ends of the floor with a game high 17 rebounds and also added 15 points and four blocked shots.

The Badgers Sydnee Fipps led all scorers with 24 points and had 15 rebounds in her sixth double-double of the season.

The loss dropped Yosemite out of the Fresno Bee's top 10 and Fresno Christian moved into the ninth spot and first in Division A.

The Ladies host Liberty (Madera Ranchos) tomorrow. Game time is 3:30 p.m. for the boys JV team; 5 p.m. for the girls JV team; girls varsity plays at 6:30 p.m. followed by the varsity boys at 8 p.m.
