Other sources of information:

A Mother Earth News magazine article, "The Truth About Septic Tanks" (www.motherearthnews.com/print-article.aspx?id=123572) takes a dim view of new regulations nationwide.

The California Onsite Wastewater Association prepared a white paper in 2004 called Defining the actions to effective and consistent legislation for the protection of water quality using onsite wastewater systems." It was written well before the proposed regulations were finalized, but has topics of interest. The paper concludes the association is in favor of the regulations. To read it, see www.cowa.org.
